GT Twin Ball Bearing Turbochargers from Garrett
These Garrett's state of the art full ball bearing GT series turbos offer a
huge efficiency improvement. By design, the GT series represents the latest in
high efficiency and broad flow range radial wheel designs. Specially designed
blade profiles allow the GT series wheels to out perform the competition in
both pressure ratio and flow capabilities. Garrett GT turbos with their fully
supported ball bearing system, substantially lower frictional losses, result in
faster spool up, higher boost, quicker transient time to boost response, and
increased durability. So what does this mean in everyday language? Take a
GT35/GT40 compressor wheel for example. It has a T3 inlet flange, flows as much
as a full frame T64, operates at such greater efficiency that you could
probably increase psi by 1-2 lbs. Spool up will be so quick that you will
probably see full boost 2-500 rpm sooner, and it supports as much as 700 hp!!!
